A Luxury Winter Weekend at The Chedi Montenegro
Where? The Chedi Lustica Bay Hotel, Montenegro
When? October 2019
Why? This month I was invited to the prestigious, luxury resort of the Chedi Lustica Bay in Montnegro along with fellow bloggers on a girls weekend press trip, to enjoy and review the stunning new property built on the edge of the exclusive Lustica Marina development.
The Hotel
Set on the edge of the stunning marina, the sustainably developed resort The Chedi is a splendid new hotel built in a style reminiscent of the traditional fishing villages native to the area. So although the resort is newly built, aesthetically it sits beautifully within the natural environment, blending local architecture with modern living.
Featuring a stunning promenade along the beautiful Adriatic coast line, I was impressed with how each window, arch way or glass door frames the views of the natural landscapes outside. The hotel boasts an 18 hole golf course, 111 elegant and light filled rooms decorated in a Mediterranean style, two restaurants, two bars, an impressive wellness spa, private beach and a splendid outdoor infinity pool.
I loved the soft neutral colour palette throughout the hotel. Sandy textures mixed with azure and turquoise highlights in the soft furnishings mimic the colours of the shoreline outside.
The architecture (although newly built) is reminiscent of a traditional fishing village so the whole resort feels in keeping with the original beauty and heritage of the area.
The Rooms and Suites
Stunning bright, light filled and kitted out with all the latest gadgets, from bluetooth speakers, i-pad menu/ concierge and fabulous strong walk-in rain shower rooms, the bedrooms and suites are well thought out and stylish.
With sparkling marina views from the balcony I was more than happy to enjoy an espresso (made in-room) while watching the yachts moor up in the sunshine.
The Interiors are mid century modern in design in neutral tones. The soft furnishings and cute lights add bright pops of colour to the palette.
The Pools and Spa
The spa treatments at the wellness spa were fantastic, but my favourite thing about the spa was the glass fronted indoor pool. Perfect for an insta shot and also just beautiful. The minute you walk into the spa, all of your senses are lulled into a sense of relaxation.
The warm temperature, the gently lapping sound of the pool and the sublime olfactory experience (the room smells like freshly washed laundry) to the range of teas and waters on offer, I highly recommend the spa and my signature massage was blissful.
Stunning – the sublime glass fronted pool.
Time for a dip
The hotel is expertly built so each area perfectly frames stunning natural views.
Food and Drink
There are two excellent restaurants at the hotel. The Restaurant on the first floor is a less formal affair serving a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with a plethora of exciting European and world options, including lots of locally sourced ingredients and healthy options.
For a more formal yet fun eating experience we dined at The Spot Restaurant (pictured below) with an outdoor terrace facing the marina. The menu is a la carte and the decor looks like a trendy art installation, expect to dine with the local cognoscenti, the yacht set and well heeled hotel guests.
Boat Life
There’s loads to do in the resort from water sports, golf, hikes, runs, shopping to visiting the ancient city of Kotor (about half an hour drive away), but most of the hotel life centres around the sea and boats.
We had an amazing day cruising around in a beautiful yacht around the stylish, exclusive waterways of Montenegro and the bay of Kotor, stopping off for lunch in the old town. And on the second day we took a more rustic boat trip in a traditional wooden motor boat to visit the mountains and natural lake scenery of the destination.
Me posing on the yacht in bouji Montenegro marina.
Huge thanks to the beautiful Chedi Lustica Bay Hotel for such a wonderful mini break. I can’t wait to visit again soon.
