A Home Cooked Sunday Roast at Bondi Green

I was invited to review Bondi Green and our food and drink was complimentary. I was not paid to visit and was not under contractual obligation to write this blog post or create content on any platform. Bondi Green will be closing due to government regulations but are looking forward to being back with a bang when lockdown is over!

Daisy Green Collection is a restaurant group I’ve loved for some time… I’ve worked with them for years but I’ve also visited their restaurants many times independently – specifically Timmy Green, right by where I live. The thing about the Daisy Green Collection, a group of Aussie-themed restaurants with branches across London, is the warm atmosphere and friendly service just give you a feeling of home.

I was especially excited to be invited along to try the new Sunday Roast at new location, Bondi Green by the Grand Union Canal in Paddington.

Located right by the Canal in a large warehouse-like space, Bondi Green is the group’s new flagship and brings a new venture for the team. An in-house bakery from the founders of Puff.

The restaurant group is also known for carrying unique works of art, this Australian Supermarket made from felt comes from artist Lucy Sparrow and Sew our Soul

With lockdown looming we decided to make the most of our last few days and sampled the restaurant’s wine flight which encompasses all Aussie wines.
The Sunday Roast menu carries a few simple choices. There’s no starters but trust me, you won’t need one.

Mr S went for 45 day aged beef for butcher, HG Walter while I opted for the Henny Penny or corn-fed chicken. The epic portions come with plenty of veg, roast parsnips, a huge Yorkshire, roast potatoes and a special Aussie addition – a cheese fugly.
It would be wrong not to order both side dishes too! Go for the massive cauliflower cheese and kim chi brussel sprouts to accompany the feast.

Desserts are classic with a twist and include the TJ’s knickerbocker glory with torched meringue and forced rhubarb and apple rice pudding raspberry and hibiscus biscuit with coconut sorbet.

I would seriously recommend the Sunday roast a Bondi Green, it’s got to be one of my favourites in London!
