Be Your Best Self: Humpty Dumpty Hypnotherapy with Fey Wong
If there’s one silver lining that has accompanied the Covid pandemic is the stronger focus on wellness — physical and mental. Extended lockdowns across the world during this generational crisis gave people time to become more introspective and recentre themselves. In the pre-Covid era, hustling culture was the norm previously and even glorified by society; some took pride in keeping themselves buried under work. Inevitably, the pursuit of achievement has had an impact on the well-being of everybody.
Under the guise of the pandemic, the virus forced people to take time off as activities came to a standstill, providing time for self-examination. Deep-seated issues that once took the back seat are now coming to the fore, and individuals are taking active steps to address the issues through avenues like therapy.
More people are seeking therapy to strengthen their mental health and address stress and burn out related to employment, family relationships and one’s self. A growing number of people seeking help to improve their mental well-being is an encouraging sign that society is finally embracing mental wellness as a priority. Fey Wong, the principal therapist of Humpty Dumpty Hypnotherapy, observes an increasing number of people approaching her for sessions.
Fey believes that “our negative thoughts and emotions need to be expressed”, like how our physical body sometimes falls sick and needs recuperation. Our minds also require attention and healing when we aren’t feeling our best.
Amongst her services, Fey recommends Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) because it is an “advanced approach based on neuroscience that offers fast and effective results by combining the most beneficial principles of Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). RTT also helps you assess and address any issues or self-limiting beliefs that may be causing unwanted behaviours, reactions or holding you back in your life. Furthermore, it can also help one to boost his confidence and performance in areas of career, relationships, sports as well as an overall sense of well-being”.
Fey’s standard RTT session includes a 20 minutes pre-session call, 90 minutes Phenomenal Rapid Transformation Therapy Session, which effectively assesses the subconscious mind to get to the root cause of the issue. A custom-create hypnosis recording, and two follow-up sessions are provided too. Moreover, RTT can also be used by high-performing individuals seeking continuous improvement through mind clarity, focus and productivity for the betterment of themselves.
“Entertainment platforms like television have misled and dramatised hypnotherapy, but it is nothing like what it is portrayed,” explains Fey. “Nothing is against your will when you are in a state of hypnosis as you still have full control.”
We are led to believe that we are under the control of the hypnotherapist when in fact clients preserve their free will, but they are simply in a more suggestible state through the relaxation of the nervous system.
In a survey conducted by the Institute of Mental Health Singapore, about 13 per cent of over 1,000 participants reported symptoms of anxiety or depression during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the study showed that 81.8 per cent of respondents are willing to seek professional mental help arising from the virus.
Fey believes that RTT serves a singular purpose: to reach the future you desire and deserve. She speaks about her own experience of undergoing RTT and achieving what she wants for her life — not only did she curb her love for sugar leading to weight loss, but she also reclaimed her own freedom and happiness. All of this transformation took a few months and she has become an advocate ever since. “Everything starts with a thought. Our thoughts are very powerful as they determine our outlook in life, actions and behaviours. Therefore, we must be mindful of our thoughts,” quips Fey, who also acknowledges taking the first steps is a commendable feat.
“The images we make in our head and the words we say to ourselves matter the most. Why? Because our relationship with ourselves is the most important,” explains Fey. Once we are able to build confidence in ourselves, we will start to realise what we want and devise a plan to achieve that goal. With Fey as a therapist, her role is not to pinpoint what the client should do, but enlighten and bring to light the root cause of their struggles. “Understanding and awareness give you the power to transform,” this is a message that Fey wishes to telegraph through her services at Humpty Dumpty Hypnotherapy.
Fey further shares that after a session, clients are able to draw their own conclusions about why they are facing their difficulties. The reconciliation often stems from a past experience and how it has altered the current state of mind. To Fey, she believes that once we understand our limiting beliefs, we can overcome them and transform how we look at life and live the way we want.
In the future, Fey hopes that greater attention could be given to mental health wellness and that the media’s portrayal of it is shone in a positive light. Education and conversations should be normalised in our society, and people should be empowered to take up therapy as a mental supplement and booster if they wish to do so without prejudice.
Furthermore, there shouldn’t be any preferential difference between physical and mental traumas as our body should be looked at as a whole. Viewing health as dichotomous is passe and does not hold any truth as studies have shown its interconnectedness. And Fey, through her private practice, is looking forward to a day where people can freely look to prioritise mental wellness improvements without reservations.
Located conveniently at The Octagon, 105 Cecil Street, Singapore 069534, Fey is open for lunchtime therapy via online or face-to-face. Individual sessions and corporate workshops are also available. For more information about Humpty Dumpty Hypnotherapy, visit the website here.

Legacy of Accuracy: Longines 2022 Ultra-Chron Diver
Longines has had an obsession with high-frequency regulated timing devices for well over a century now. The manufacture created their first 5Hz stopwatch with flyback function, capable of measuring 1/10th of a second, as early as 1914, and then proceeded to outdo themselves with a 50Hz stopwatch in just two years, in 1916. With a balance that clocked in at 360,000 vibrations per hour, the device was capable of measuring time up to 1/100th of a second. As the wristwatch gained in popularity, Longines brought their high frequency know-how to bear in this new form too. To make a point, the manufacture began sending these high frequency wristwatches off for certification to third-party validators and chronometric competitions held by the highly regarded observatories, such as the Observatoire de Neuchâtel, and the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). Needless to say, Longines claimed multiple accolades.
This acclaim gave Longines the confidence to push boundaries further, eventually challenging even electronic watches. Because high-frequency watches beat faster, they also exhaust their power reserves a lot quicker and the components wear out faster. To circumnavigate this, Longines patented a dry lubrication in 1966, which among many other points of fine tuning, allowed for the calibre 431. This movement was able to guarantee accuracy of a minute a month, or two seconds per day. Such a standard far exceeded the requirements of COSC, the chronometer certification body and thus, Longines boldly named the calibre 431-powered wristwatch, the Ultra-Chron.
Still in the 1960s, Longines moved to case up calibre 431 into a 200m water-resistant dive watch dubbed the Ultra-Chron Diver. Here is where we pick up the linage of the 2022 reissued Ultra-Chron Diver. The contemporary Ultra-Chron Diver has been rendered in the same cushion-shaped case of a particular 1968 Ultra-Chron Diver, along with its striking red minutes hand. Looking to the unidirectional bezel next, we must acknowledge that Longines has placed a sapphire insert on it with Super-LumiNova so that the dive bezel remains legible in dimmer conditions.
- READ MORE: The True Legacy of Longines
For the movement, Longines, in partnership with ETA, has developed the new calibre L836.6, which boasts a frequency of 5Hz. And in the spirit of the Ultra-Chron’s legacy, to show again that Longines’ is not simply blowing its own high-frequency horns, the new Ultra-Chron Diver has been chronometer-certified by TIMELAB, an independent entity that is also in charge of the Poinçon de Genève mark of excellence. TIMELAB subjects the timepiece to a series of tests over 15 days, through which the watch is measured for accuracy at three temperatures: 8°C, 23°C and 38°C. However, what sets TIMELAB apart from its contemporaries is that its certification is based on testing cased-up movements — actual watches. COSC, by way of contrast, confers its certification on base movements.

Louis Vuitton Renews Collaboration with Yayoi Kusama
The renewed collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the Japanese art maven, Yayoi Kusama, comes full circle. The artist’s message of obsession and seriality are translated through the use of polka dots populated across some of the luxury fashion house’s Cruise 2023 product line-up.
This is the second time the Maison and Kusama had worked together and a celebration of Louis Vuitton’s longstanding partnership with the artist. The first creative endeavour occurred in 2012, under the helm of Marc Jacobs. The artist’s signature dots made it across famous Louis Vuitton silhouettes like the Keepall, Neverfull, Papillon and Speedy. To this day, pieces from the inaugural collection still fetch exorbitant prices on many resale platforms.
“Yayoi Kusama’s collaboration in 2012 flourished through various universes of the Maison, from exhibitions, products and a series of unique window installations, which included a startingly life-like mannequin modelled after the artist herself,” says Louis Vuitton in a press release.
More than just a typical fashion meets art collaboration, the decision to invite artists onboard also exemplifies Louis Vuitton’s desire to remain a cultural powerhouse. Other past collaborations with artists include Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. Its most recent appointment of Jung Hoyeon, the South Korean actress who rose to fame through the hit Netflix series “Squid Game” is another example of the Maison plugging itself into the cultural zeitgeist and cementing its position at the forefront of the cultural movement.
One could also look at these collaborations as a way for luxury fashion brands to appeal to a broader audience by tapping into these artists’ fan base. Furthermore, products created from these collective efforts make a rare sense of permanence. And many times, it also transcends seasons and continues to be a hit among fashion enthusiasts and collectors.
A sneak peek of the partnership, which featured a handful of leather goods, was unveiled during Artistic Director of Women’s Collections Nicolas Ghesquière’s Cruise 2023 at the Salk Institute in San Diego. References to Kusama’s “Narcissus Garden” exhibition, where multiple metallic orbs filled the space, decorated the Twist bags. The contemporary artist’s penchant for colourful dots also appeared on the Dauphine and soft trunk bags.
According to Louis Vuitton, this is just a teaser and next year January, the full-fledged collection will be out in stores.

What Is Crypto Options Trading?
Cryptocurrencies have taken the world by storm in the last couple of years and continue to do so. As a result, various financial products have been created to cater to this expanding market. Like the stock market, there is an option for investing in cryptocurrencies and making money from their volatility. This article looks closely at crypto options trading and how it works. Readers need no prior knowledge of investing or trading to understand this article. However, a basic understanding of what cryptocurrencies are would be helpful.
What is Crypto Options Trading?
Crypto options trading is a form of trading in which you make an investment based on the future price of a cryptocurrency. This differs from buying the actual cryptocurrency, a “crypto asset”. Crypto options trading is a method of speculation. This means you profit even if the underlying asset does not move in your expected direction. There are two leading crypto options trading: Call options and Put options. Let’s take a closer look at each of these:
Call options: If you buy a call option, you earn a profit if the price of the underlying asset increases. You make money if the underlying asset’s price rises above your purchase price. You can profit even if the underlying asset’s price increases.
Put options: If you buy a put option, you earn a profit if the cost of the underlying asset drops. You make money even if the underlying asset’s price falls below your purchase price. You can profit even if the asset’s price drops or rises.
How Does Crypto Options Trading Work?
When you trade crypto options, you are speculating about the future price of a cryptocurrency. You buy a “call option” or “put option” for a certain amount. If the cryptocurrency price moves in your favour, you can sell the option for a profit. If the price moves against you, you have to pay the penalty. You can also consider hedging with options.
- You choose a cryptocurrency and the amount of time until the option expires. For example, you might buy a “call option” for bitcoin with an expiration date of one month.
- You determine what price you are willing to pay for the option. For example, you might be willing to pay US$500 for a bitcoin call option.
- If bitcoin prices increase to US$7,500 in one month, you can sell your call option for a profit.
- If the price of bitcoin does not increase, you lose the option and the money you paid. It also would be best considering hedging with options.
Differences Between Crypto Options And Bitcoin Futures
- Crypto options trading is very similar to futures trading on exchanges like the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE) and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). However, there are some essential differences.
- Futures trading is done with a standardised contract that everyone in the market is aware of. You can choose when to buy or sell through an exchange. Crypto options trading is a much more informal process.
- Anyone can create an option contract, and you can make money whether the asset price goes up or down. With futures trading, you make money only if the price goes up.
- Futures are only traded on significant exchanges like the CBOE and the CME. Crypto options trading is done through many smaller exchanges and online platforms.
Pros of Crypto Options Trading
- Crypto options trading is a flexible way of making money from cryptocurrencies. You can choose the amount of risk you are willing to take and how long you want to invest.
- You can profit even if the underlying asset’s price does not move in the direction you expected. For example, if you buy a “put option” for bitcoin, but the price does not fall, you can still make a profit.
- The risk of losing your initial investment is limited to the option’s price. You don’t lose anything if the bitcoin price does not drop below your purchase price.
- Crypto options trading is a simple investment method that can be done online. You don’t need any special training or license to do it.
- Crypto options trading is an easy way to earn money from cryptocurrencies even if you don’t have much money to invest.
- You can invest a small amount of money regularly instead of putting a lump sum into one big trade. This can help spread out your risk.
Cons of Crypto Options Trading
- Crypto options trading is a risky investment with a high potential for loss. If you buy a call option, you can lose money even if the underlying asset price rises. Likewise, if you buy a put option, you can lose money even if the underlying asset’s price does not drop.
- The price of an option can change quickly, meaning that you may pay more than you planned. This can be especially true if you buy options regularly.
- The price of an option can change if other investors buy or sell it. This can make it difficult to predict how much profit you will make.
- Crypto options trading is a form of gambling, not a sound investment strategy. You can profit only if the price of the underlying asset moves in your favour. You have no control over this.
Conclusion
Crypto options trading is a risky form with a high potential for loss. However, it is an easy way to make money from cryptocurrencies. You can buy call or put options for a variety of different cryptocurrencies. You can do this online with a small amount of money and make a profit even if the underlying asset’s price does not move.

LUXUO Travelogue: Amankila, the Resort for the Gods
Bali has captured the world’s imagination and inspired our true longing for an exotic and peaceful getaway, long before Julia Robert’s romance on Eat, Pray, Love. (Yes, I read the book, too!) You can roll your eyes, but hate it or love it, the story ignited wanderlusts from all walks of life to dream of Bali.
The “Island of Gods”, as they call it, is an ideal holiday destination, brimming with a seemingly endless supply of resorts, each with their own unique offering. A destination where a traveller can marvel for days, weeks, months if you wish, some families I personally know have made Bali their chosen home after one holiday. I for one have been here multiple times. Every trip however has given me a different perspective. Each corner has something for the soul, mind, and taste buds. That said, there’s one place I’ve been meaning to visit, since my first trip to Indonesia some eight or nine years ago. Amankila.
Some hotels get quite the reputation. Celebrities flock, the yogis and peace seekers return, and the rest who have heard the stories aspire to grace these hills while attempting not to take selfies with someone famous stretched on the sun lounger next to us. Such is Amankila on Bali’s thankfully quiet east coast. One incredibly well-travelled friend — a wellness connoisseur with a hotel obsession — names it his favourite holiday destination in the world, and trust me, he’s seen a few (thousand).
Chris, my partner, and I were pressed against the window of an Aman car that collected us from the airport, as we arrived at an unassuming entrance. I got off and was greeted by a lovely group of four in sarongs, staff members with bright and warm smiles. Immediately, I noticed a hint of tuberose and jasmine in the air. Like all things Aman, Amankila is deeply attuned to the seasons. I paused for a minute, before walking into the lobby. I took a deep breath, exhaled, looked at Chris and whispered, “I’ve always wanted to stay here.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the sunlight beaming from the open lobby, “well you manifested it,” he smiled.

Even though this Ed Tuttle-designed classic on Bali’s hushed east coast has been around for more than three decades, stepping inside its hilltop lobby still induces goosebumps. The view was spellbinding: three travertine pools, cascading like Balinese rice paddies towards the crashing waves of the Lombok Strait below. There’s a fringe of pink bougainvillaea and a backdrop of swaying palms, plus a small army of sarong-clad staff serving fresh mangoes and passionfruit daiquiris to guests lounging at the poolside.
This resort’s sweeping swathes of blonde stone walls and walkways give Amankila a very grounded feel. The creamy and white-washed tones of the buildings and décor enhance a sense of peace, as does the surrounding greenery. Like its namesake, Aman, meaning peace in Sanskrit and “kila” for hills in Bahasa. The resort is on a hillside, carefully designed to make the most of the views — and so suites are reached by a network of elevated paths. There was a delightful sense of seclusion and privacy all throughout the property. All 31 suites are staggered on the side of a hill, with uninterrupted views of the ocean out front, and access to a private beach below. The suites seem more like private villas than hotel rooms.
As we strolled into the Amankila suite, we were greeted by shadows of palm trees on the walkway toward the gleaming private pool, yet again, the infinite vastness of the deep-blue envelopes these peaceful hills like a mother’s warm embrace. As soon as our en-suite check in was complete, I put on my swimwear and went straight to the infinity pools and soaked up the hypnotic brightness of that perfectly clear sky, all the way to sunset. Safe to say that an Aperol Spritz or three kept Chris company while I was in the water.
The next day was an early start for us. We had breakfast at sunrise on gentle waves aboard Aman XVI, Amankila’s traditional “jukung” outrigger, in the presence of a living legend, the glorious Mount Agung. I remember feeling overwhelmed with gratitude that morning. For years, three or four trips, I’ve been coming to Bali with hopes of seeing the beauty of Mount Agung on a clear day, but the island can be rather tricky on the subject of weather, and only that day, on that boat, while at Amankila, did I get all the luck I needed to finally see her in the light. I couldn’t help but get emotional. As Balinese legend has it, only the ones — who are exactly where they’re supposed to be — get to meet the goddess Agung. I was in awe to say the least.
It wasn’t just the sky that was kind to us, the waters too showed gifts. As the clouds went back to cover the mountains, akin to curtains in a theatre, we jumped into the ocean and swam in the deep blue. There they were, a bale of sea turtles, eight or nine big ones, swimming around us like children in a playground. “As above, so below,” I thought to myself. As I was drying my hair on the outrigger, on our way back to Amankila, I remember a moment where I paused, mindfully inhaled and exhaled, I felt serenity, like I was in harmony with the sky above and the ocean below, I mean I felt it all throughout my trip, but only then did I feel it tangible.
I left Amankila with a profound sense of completion. It was like coming home.
