It’s 18 degrees in New York right now so it seems like the perfect time to revisit my trip to the InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort and Spa in Cozumel, Mexico last month. For those of you not familiar with Cozumel, it is an island in the Caribbean off Yucatán Peninsula opposite Playa del Carmen and is a great alternative to Cancun. The hotel was the former home of the president, hence the name, and because it’s set on a reef, it’s a popular destination for diving and snorkeling. You can do as much or as little as you want at the resort though. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the 80 degree temperatures whether you’re a couple on a honeymoon or a family with kids. I saw a cute Spanish couple and there three small children having a fun vacation during my visit. There are three restaurants on the property, as well as a gym and spa. I actually fell asleep during my facial which as a harried New Yorker almost never happens to me. If you’re cold and in need of a warm up, I highly recommend the InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort and Spa.
This is a view of my beach access room 2121.
This is my room.
I had a large bathroom with an indoor shower and an outdoor shower which was fun.
A view of the outdoor beach restaurant and cabanas.
The view from my porch.
The adults only pool was very private and quiet.
The main pool sits between the beach and main restaurant.
We were able to tour the gorgeous Presidential Suite during our visit.
It has a large private terrace and pool.
And a huge bathroom.
If you look closely, you will see an iguana sunning himself on the pool wall.
I love this floating marble wall in one of the beach front suites.
