I’m really looking forward to cooler weather so I can wear jeans again. They are my day to day uniform for running around New York and I especially love pairing them with an ivory blouse. It helps if the blouse is a little frilly or lacy but any ivory blouse will do. It’s the perfect transitional outfit but when the temperatures drop even farther, you can add a blazer or a camel coat to take you farther into fall. I’ve put together a few looks inspired by a few chic ladies to get you started on autumn.
This Ruffled Silk Crepe de Chine Blouse would be great for daytime date.
I like a lighter denim with ivory like these L’Agence Marcelle Cropped Low-Rise Skinny Jeans. I also found that my really dark jeans rubbed off on my ivory blouses which is another reason why I like lighter jeans.
Ivory and denim is a a little simple so it allows you to add fun accessories like these Aquazzura Christy Leopard Flats. They also come in 11 other colors and patterns.
It looks like the girl in my first inspirational look is holding a green handbag. I love green for fall and this PB 0110 Cross Body Bag is super simple and chic.
As I mentioned recently, I’m tired of summer color so I’ve already switched to nude nail polish. I didn’t realize that celebrity hair stylist Oribe added cosmetics to his beauty line and I’m dying to try his new Oribe Nude Nail Polish.
Style icon and Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo wore the blouse and jeans combo to New York fashion week last year.
You can achieve a very similar look with this Self Portrait Crocheted Lace and Cotton-Blend Blouse.
I love these Frame Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans with an ivory blouse.
These black Jimmy Choo Suede Flats are very close to the pair Lauren wore too.
There is nothing I love more than a wine colored bag for fall and this Saint Laurent Monogramme Quilted Leather Pouch is the perfect shade.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lauren Santo Domingo wear colored polish so maybe she’d like my go to polish Deborah Lippmann Baby Love. It’s a great sheer pale pink polish that always makes me feel pulled together.
Model Carolyn Murphy would look beautiful in a garbage bag but she looks especially great in the ivory blouse and jeans combo that she wore in Harper’s Bazaar last year.
I’m not sure if the Valentino blouse that Carolyn is wearing is still available but this Masscob Hazel Lace-Trimmed Cotton Blouse is a good alternative.
I’ve been noticing that button front jeans are in style for fall so maybe I’ll try these J.Crew Straightaway Jeans.
My blush colored Chloe Lauren Scalloped Ballet Flats are my go to with jeans. They come in six other colors too.
I haven’t been a fan of all the cutesy designs from Anya Hindmarch lately so I was excited to see this chic new Vere Satchel in her new fall arrivals. I love it in this duck egg color but it also comes in black, ink, red python, and burgundy.
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about TenOverTen so I’m excited to try their Murray Nail Polish.
Model Jourdan Dunn was caught leaving a fashion show in Paris in the look too.
If you’re not a fan of the high neck lace blouse, this Sea Crochet-Paneled Cotton Voile Blouse is a less conservative option.
I love the pocket detail on these J Brand Skinny Cropped Jeans.
Jourdan is wearing sneakers with her look. You can find all my favorite styles here but I would pair this look with the new J.Crew Sadie Flats. They are surprisingly comfortable and go with everything for fall.
Jourdan is carrying a Chanel bag but I like this larger sand colored Lanvin Quilted Shoulder Bag. It’s also available in black.
Aerin Lauder turned me on to Deborah Lippmann Naked Nail Polish for a neutral pedicure color. It’s a little more opaque than Baby Love and is perfect leg lengthening color.
