Bottomless Brunch at Nobu Dubai

Friday is brunch day in Dubai…and the bottomless brunch really is a full on institution in the city. I was overwhelmed with choices from where to pick, with different restaurants offering every type of food imaginable, bottomless champagne and DJ parties. Honestly though for me it wasn’t too hard to choose when I found out that one of my favourite restaurants held one of these lavish brunches every Friday…

Seriously, the mere thought of bottomless champagne and sushi at Nobu Atlantis, The Palm Dubai had me quivering with excitement. And I’m not going to pretend it wasn’t the thing I was most looking forward to during our stay!

Nobu is located in the Atlantis, The Palm Dubai, a hotel of truly epic proportions! Even bigger than the One&Only Royal Mirage where we were staying. We’re talking over 1,500 rooms (including underwater suites!), sixteen restaurants, loads of shops, there’s even a waterpark and an aquarium! But we had only one thing (well two things…) on our minds, sushi and champagne! And we made a beeline for the restaurant by famous world renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
Inside the restaurant is true to the usual Nobu style, slick, modern, an Asian-style interior but here with a Arabian twist.
There’s a choice of three packages at the brunch and you can opt for the cheapest which includes all food and non-alcoholic beverages, the middle level which includes alcoholic beverages such as special cocktails, wine, beer, sake and prosecco or you can go for the top tier which includes champagne on top of the other alcoholic beverages. I don’t need to tell you which one we went for, you know me by now…

And with the house champagne being Perrier-Jouët, poured from that beautiful floral bottle, we were even happier!
Now there are the smiles of a couple of very happy people on the first day of their holiday, ready to tuck in to some amazing food!
Brunch begins with an assortment of canapés and we tucked into miso mushrooms, edamame beans and chicken tacos. Then comes the real excitement… now, I’m never a fan of buffets but a bottomless buffet at Nobu is a bit different…

Everything is prepared by the skilled sushi chef and laid out on the buffet freshly…
You can choose from salads drizzled with special Nobu dressing.
The finest sashimi and tartars.

And of course, plate after plate of sushi. Fish, veggie, nigiri, maki, rolls… you name it, it was there. Mr S and I were is sushi heaven. A delirious coma of yellowtail, lobster, salmon and avocado!
After piling your plates from the buffet, you can make a selection from the menu of main courses.
Black cod with yuzu miso is a bit of a pre-requisite at Nobu, and it’s great that this pricey dish is included in the bottomless brunch.
Chicken skewers with spicy antichucho sauce.

And a melt in the mouth Chilean sea bass with butter. All just exquisite.

One thing I will say about the brunch was that I was booked in for 12pm and I was warned to tell them if I was going to be 15 minutes late otherwise they would give my table away. Not wanting to lose our precious table, we turned up exactly on time but found ourselves the first people there! It didn’t hugely pick up after that, so if you’re looking for a raucous party brunch this one isn’t for you, though it’s perfect if you want something more understated and really good food.
For dessert there’s blueberry and yuzu pancakes…
And also Matcha French toast…

And also make-your-own mini magnums!! I mean…as if this place didn’t already have me at unlimited sushi and champagne.
And *that’s* the smile of a girl about to enjoy a make-your-own mini magnums!

High on the spirit of life, good food, the start of holidays and a *few* glasses of bubbly we went to explore the Aquarium…
Literally located right in the middle of the hotel, near to Nobu. You don’t need to pay to get in or anything though you want to see more they do offer behind the scenes experiences and even the opportunity to dive right in.

I was the perfect place to carp around.

Having a whale of time, we didn’t want to leave!

But after checking out some of the glamorous boutiques at Atlantis, The Palm Dubai we jumped in a taxi back to One&Only Royal Mirage…two very happy customers!

Though it may not be Dubai’s most lively brunch, the offering at Nobu, is sophisticated and classy and the food lives up to the brand pedigree.
