City and Sand at Four Seasons Resort Dubai Jumeirah Beach

After a fantastic night’s stay at Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre we jumped in a cab and it was about twenty minutes down the road to sister property, Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.

We were greeted by this majestic facade and as soon as we stepped in…THIS view across the property, the perfectly manicured gardens and right out to the Gulf. 
I think it’s easy to say why it was quite simply love at first sight with this resort hotel, and it was our favourite of all the properties that we visited in Dubai. And I’m excited to tell you why.
Now I never see Mr S’s face light up so brightly as when he sees a really beautiful pool (well…the exception being on our wedding day when he saw me walk down the aisle!) and you should have seen the joy on his face when he saw the stunning adults only pool at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. 
Fringed with the shade of palm trees, vibrant pink blooms and tiles with glimmering white and gold mosaics, it was super glamorous but also the perfect place to just relax for the day.
Maybe making one of the these gorgeous cabanas the ‘office’ for the day? And if you want something even more special, there are mini villas surrounding the pool with their own sun terrace, shower, bathroom, TV and mini bar.

But I have to say that my absolute favourite thing about the pool was the floating champagne bar…
An amenity perhaps only rivalled by Champagne O’Clock at the Rosewood Mayakoba.
The pool has its own dedicated bar, but trust me you never actually need to leave your sun lounger. 
In true Four Seasons style, the service is excellent. There are call buttons right by your lounger and a member of the team will be over in thirty seconds flat to take your food or drink order also providing complimentary coconuts and little cool bags of iced water. 
I also loved the idea of the Spa Tapas menu, allowing you to sample ‘tasters’ of the treatments available at the spa without ever having to leave the pool.
Next to the Quiet pool is the family-friendly active pool.

I left Mr S firmly installed in his lounger by the pool and trust me he didn’t move far all day… I had to force him to come to lunch at the hotel’s signature restaurant Sea Fu (review to come), because he was just far too happy in his seat. Anyway…let’s just leave him there and I’ll give you a tour of the rest of the hotel. 
The exterior of the hotel is simply gorgeous! With those beautiful pillars and archways typical of Arabic design but with a contemporary feel to it. 
Palm-lined pathways lead to endless views.

And the gardens are lush, perfectly kept and decorated with stylish sculptures and artwork.

The gardens were an absolute pleasure to stroll around…and who needs Mr S for company anyway!
At the end of the palm-lined path and adjacent to the pool lie the pristine white sands of Jumeirah beach. 
To one side is the Sea Fu restaurant…

And guests can enjoy the 270 metres of private beach, whether that’s rocking in the hammock, lounging in the out door living area or enjoying water sports. Just like at the pool, there are full refreshment services water, frozen treats and sun lotion so you never have to lift a finger.

Heading inside…first stop the spa…

Though we had no time to get a treatment The Pearl Spa at the resort was the epitome of zen. There’s a climate controlled indoor pool, ten treatment rooms, steam room, whirlpool, fitness centre and his ‘n hers salon. The treatments use absolute premium products such as Natura Bissé, Sodashi and Dr Burgener and many of the treatments incorporate traditions from Dubai and ingredients such as crushed pearl, desert sand and camel milk. That’s another of my favourite things about Four Seasons hotels, they always evoke a sense of place as far as possible. I have my eye on the Arabian romance for next time, a couples retreat which includes ghassoul clay treatments and bespoke full body mask.    
Across the corridor from the spa is the hotel’s other restaurant, Suq, a bright and airy restaurant laid out a bit like a marketplace. It’s a buffet but so much more with live cooking stations covering cuisines from East to West. There’s an a la carte menu or you can choose from Middle Eastern food, Indian, Italian, dim sum…there’s also pastry station and a cheese counter. 
And best of all an ice cream parlour!

There’s plenty of relaxed outdoor seating too where you can enjoy views of the pool and the gardens. On Fridays there’s a brunch (of course there’s a brunch), a family feast of all-that-you-can-eat and drink.

Now let’s head upstairs…

This gorgeous spiral staircase is a stunning centre piece of the hotel, fully clad in marble, light glimmers off the mirror-like walls and floor. 
The Shai Salon is simply gorgeous, super comfortable with beautiful fresh flowers and artwork. Another example of Arabian design fused with contemporary style and glamour. 
Swirling murals line the wall, eight marble columns stand like soldiers side by side and floor to ceiling windows allow light to flood into the room. 
A traditionally British afternoon tea is served here accompanied by luxurious tea brand, JING. Oh and there’s a sweetie table…
Outside a beautiful terrace gives a view across the hotel’s two beautiful outdoor pools and onward to the beach. 
Even the corridors were beautiful with the archways framed with these gorgeous hanging chandeliers embellished with flowers. 
What I really loved about Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach was the very personal feel to the service. And unlike some of the other hotels we visited in Dubai, it wasn’t gargantuan in size, easy to walk around and manageable without getting lost! It’s not a small hotel by any means but it is intimate and cosy and there’s a warmth radiating through it.

There are two main restaurants in the hotel, but you certainly won’t be lacking in choice as only a few steps away from the hotel’s entrance is the restaurant village.

Here you’ll see a restaurant from multi-Michelin starred chef, Jean Georges. 
And Coya, one of my London favourites, serving Peruvian food and including a ceviche counter and Pisco Bar.

Now we’d arrived at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach early so that Mr S could sit by the pool we could fully enjoy the facilities and after our lunch, our room was ready! 
As with Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, our entry-level Deluxe City-View room was super spacious, and according to the website the 70 square metre space makes them among the largest luxury hotel rooms in Dubai.

With space for a desk / dining table, and a large slouchy sofa, it’s more the size of a junior suite. 
Plus there’s a proper balcony from which you can enjoy the city views. I particularly like the iPad mini that listed all the resort’s services and there were bluetooth speakers and an espresso machine too.

The bathroom was also super spacious and I loved the free standing bathtub, mosaic tiling and marble fixtures. I was also quite taken by the Etro products with beautiful packaging, all designed exclusively for the Four Seasons Resort Dubai.

After a bit of time enjoying the room, the sun started dipping towards the beach…
And this beautiful ball sculpture was lit up with fire. This golden hour is one of our favourite times of day, and we have a little ritual where we love to enjoy a glass of rosé and some crisps as we watch the sun go down. It’s actually something we adopted from Mr S’s mum…wine consumed and crisps nibbled on we headed back to the room to get ready for the evening.
The Suq lounge was all lit up and the hotel looked beautiful by night. There’s a couple of options for pre-dinner drinks and we poked our heads into the Hendricks Bar, a cosy bar based on a British club that specialises in whisky, hand-crafted gin cocktails and cigars.

But we had another idea in mind. Taking the lift up to the rooftop…Mr S and I arrived at Mercury Lounge.
Sitting right on top of Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, this beautiful bar was quite simply our favourite place that we visited in the short time that we were there. 
Beautifully designed, a cross between an indoor garden and Mediterranean  lounge bar we loved the chilled out and glamorous atmosphere. 
But best of all was the perfect view of the entire skyline of Dubai.
The ideal way to spend an evening in the city of bright lights and contrasts…

A motto that I always stand by as a luxury travel blogger is ‘you can’t go wrong with the Four Seasons’ and as usual Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach totally proves my point. An utterly wonderful property, sprinkled with Four Seasons magic with great food in a dreamy location.
