Burghley Horse Trials with Joules Clothing
Where? <arel=”nofollow” href=”http://www.burghley-horse.co.uk/” target=”_blank”>Burghley Horse Trials
Exactly? Every year Burghley House in Lincolnshire, UK hosts one of the equestrian world’s most exclusive events. Visited by the royals as well as sporting royalty, Burghley Horse Trials is an annual three day summer season event. It’s deemed to be one of the most luxurious and prestigious events on the sporting calendar.
Why? This season I was extremely lucky to be invited to the event by Joules Clothing, who are one the official sponsors of Burghley. We were invited to lunch overlooking the Joules jump fence, a day at Burghley and an overnight stay at the spectacular Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa nearby.

What to wear to Burghley
Think English countryside, heritage, tweeds, stripes, wellies and quilted jackets and you’ll be right on the money. Step forward Joules clothing, who very kindly dressed me for the event. And not just me it seems, with a sell store on site at the event it seemed that every man, woman and child (and even dog!!) at the event was sporting a piece of Joules with pride.

Arriving in style at the event in my Rolls Royce Wraith which was loaned to me for the weekend
First stop a visit to the extremely popular Joules store in the shopping village at the event.
Next stop the Joules sponsored wooden house for a spot of lunch with the best view of the Joules fences. So we watched the horses jump whilst enjoying a champagne lunch.
Lunch was followed with a gin tasting from the chic British craft gin company Warner Edwards.
We spent the afternoon watching the horse show with a spectacular backdrop of Burghley House.
As well as posing on one the fences (between trials of course!)
And some sunbathing and walk around the beautiful estate.

Then back to Rushton Hall pictured below for a luxury overnight stay.
Next morning we had breakfast and had some time to enjoy the spa and have a wander around the grounds.
Breakfast is served.
Bonnie wears stripe Riviera jersey dress, mustard quilted jacket, wellies, white beanie bobble hat and grey check Berkley scarf all from Joules.
