As the days get shorter, the weather gets cold and winter coats are unpacked, I’m sure all my fellow UK residents are dreaming of sunnier climes and warmer weather. The Palm Beaches in Florida is an area renowned for its beautiful spas, health and wellness so the gorgeous spa to Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square was the perfect place to find out more about the area and dream of lying in that Florida sun!
Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square is fast becoming my favourite hotel in London having visited for the chocolate afternoon tea and dinner at Mei Ume. But this was my first time visiting the spa.
Clad in gold, it’s one of the most beautiful urban spas I’ve ever seen is one with beautiful Roman architecture, it’s an absolute modern gem in the city. The perfect place to get away from busy London life and relax with friends or just on your own!
One of the key partner brands at the spa is ESPA, products and treatments that combine holistic therapy with natural ingredients. The result is fantastic looking skin combined with well being from with in. Having had quite a few massages recently, I decided to opt for an ESPA scrub to prepare my skin for my upcoming trip to Barcelona. Of course the usual facials and massages are on offer at the spa but there are also the Autograph experiences which have been created bespoke to spirit of the Spa – I’m keen to try the salt stone restorative ritual next time I come!
There’s eight gorgeous treatment rooms at the Four Seasons spa as well as a luxurious spa suite, hammam, steam room and sauna. I got myself comfortable on the treatment bed as the spa therapist used a salt and oil scrub containing Apricot Seed Kernels, Spearmint and Aloe Vera to condition my skin. I was worried the scrub might be abrasive but it was one of the most gentle I’ve ever had; so relaxing I nearly fell asleep.
With my skin fully exfoliated and nourished I stepped into the shower before returning to the bed for a final relaxing mini massage on my back, neck and shoulders.
After your treatment there’s the option of spending some time in the relaxation area (think comfy beds, cucumber water and healthy nibbles) or do as we did and head to the pool.
The fourteen metre pool is one of the most beautiful basement pools I’ve seen in London (ok, I know I’m gushing but I’m more than a little obsessed with Four Seasons), *almost* as good as lying in the sunshine.
My experience of Florida doesn’t extend much further than Miami so it was really interesting to hear more about The Palm Beaches, a seriously luxurious destination in South Florica’s Intracoastal Waterway. The area actually includes 38 other cities and towns beyond Palm Beach including Boca Raton, Jupiter and Tequesta featuring luxurious accommodation, shopping and of course spas!! In the month of October the destination will be highlighting the fabulous wellness offerings with limited time prices as well as donating a portion of the proceeds to the Palm Beach county chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Soon food was on our minds…when is it not…so we headed upstairs for dinner. With a live band playing in the Rotunda lounge, we still felt well and truly in the holiday spirit of #ThirstyThursday and settled down under the domed ceiling to order from a menu of classic dishes.
My starter choice was easy when I saw my favourite tuna tartare on the menu served with avocado, sobacha, baby radish and shiso dressing. I wasn’t disappointed and it was a fantastic version of the dish, beautifully fresh tuna and plenty of flavour in the dressing.
My main course was a beautifully cooked sea bass with crispy skin and a light sauce of courgette and tomato, artichoke purée and chips. The perfect combination of light dishes that you need just after a spa treatment. Around the table the popular choice as the rib eye steak, which Laura tucked into with a mushroom and tomato salad and a portion of fries. After which the make-your-own ice cream stand was a huge temptation but I held back with thoughts of my upcoming Spain trip on my mind…
I had a truly lovely evening dreaming about the Florida sun with a fantastic group of ladies – a huge thank you for Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square for hosting!
