Chanel always has beautiful fashion shows but the Spring/Summer 2018 Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris was especially lovely. Karl Lagerfeld imagined a French garden with traditional trellises of climbing roses surrounding a fountain. Guests sat on park benches and models walked down stone paths. It was the perfect backdrop to the frothy fashions “of silk tulle, chiffon and organza—pleated or enriched with botanical embroidery in sequins, beads, stones and strass. Feathers caress shoulders and brush ankles, extending the woven tweed and matte satin.” Now I’m really ready for spring to arrive.
