Someone in the Wall Street Journal declared that floral prints are out this year but don’t tell that to Australian interior designer Cameron Kimber. His country house is filled with floral prints and chintz. One of which is the same Lee Jofa Althea print that I have in my own apartment so needless to say, I think in and out lists are pretty silly, especially when it comes to interior design. It’s your home, do with it what you wish. But I digress.
As you know, I’ve always loved Cameron Kimber‘s homes and this one is especially beautiful and was featured in the January 2018 issue of House & Garden UK. In the article, Cameron says that he admires British interior designers Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler, David Mlinaric, Veere Grenney, Ben Pentreath, and Nicky Haslam. “I like the way English interiors have a handed-down look. It doesn’t matter if something doesn’t quite match or isn’t perfect, and it’s ok to have the dog bed in the sitting room. Things are beautiful and comfortable, and that’s really all that matters.” Amen.
