25 Chic Coats for Fall and Winter

Sweater weather quickly transitioned into coat weather today when the temperature suddenly dropped. I have so many coats that they really are bursting out of my coat closet but that doesn’t stopped me from buying more every year. In fact, I just bought two in the last week. My inspiration last year and again this year are all the coats in Oceans 8 with a little new inspiration from the A Perfect Murder and The Thomas Crown Affair.

Cate Blanchett wore a leopard coat in Oceans 8 but this belted leopard-print cotton-blend faux fur coat puts that one to shame. It’s beyond chic.

I’m still trying to find the navy faux Astrakhan Max Mara coat that Sandra Bullock wears in Oceans 8 but this navy reversible shearling coat might be a great alternative.

I love the texture of this camel double-breasted brushed-felt coat.

I always love menswear inspired coats like this oversized checked wool coat. I’d pair it with wide leg trousers or a floral midi dress and knee high boots.

I’m not allowed to buy another grey. A self imposed rule I break every year. This wool cashmere double-breasted topcoat would work just as well with jeans and sneakers as it would with work clothes.

If you have a closet full of plain wool coats, this color-block shearling coat would add some pizzazz.

This army green oversized double-breasted wool-blend bouclé coat looks chic and warm and it’s not too expensive either.

I love the buckle details on this leather-trimmed wool-blend coat.

Teddy bear coats are still popular and this oversized faux shearling coat is much more reasonably priced than the Max Mara Teddy Bear coat.

If you’re looking for a black coat this winter, I like this oversized double-breasted alpaca and wool-blend coat. I have a green alpaca coat and it’s incredibly warm too.

The Rolls Royce of coats is this Max Mara Icon double-breasted wool and cashmere-blend coat but it’s a classic that will never go out of style.

New York is a sea of black puffer coats every winter. I hate them. This quilted houndstooth woven down coat is a much chicer option.

I love colored coats for winter when you are really depressed from the cold and need some color to perk you up. This blue Long Wool Blend Trench Coat is also available in pink and red and would work with trousers, dresses, or skirts. It’s also only $249.

The colored flecks add a modern touch to this Herringbone Coat.

This camel Wool Blend Wrap Coat is much less expensive than the Max Mara version but still just as chic.

This  woven coat with a shiny coppery thread would a lovely coat for fall and winter for those of you who live in more temperate climates.

I love this duty plum color of this double-breasted felt trench coat. It would . look great with any color but especially grey and navy. It would also be perfect with floral and patterned dresses.

I need an intervention because I want to buy this multicolor belted checked brushed wool-blend coat. I love all the shades of plum, berry, and navy.

Nothing is bolder than a red coat like this claret double-breasted wool-blend coat.

I just ordered this grey melange Italian wool coat for weekends to wear with oversized sweaters. At $149, I’m tempted to buy the navy version too. It’s also available in an orangey camel color as well.

I love the classic look of this navy wool and cashmere-blend felt coat.

The description says it’s powder blue but it looks pale mint to me. Regardless, I think this wool and cashmere-blend coat would be perfect for winter in the south.

This army green shearling coat would make a very sext date night jacket.

How chic is this chartreuse wool-blend felt coat? It would certainly jazz up my grey winter outfits.

I love the color and cut of this Prince of Wales grey coat. It’s another option. that would look just as good with jeans as it does with the floral dress above.

Stay warm!

XOXO,

HC
