Loft Living

Habitually Chic has always been about pretty pictures and a place to get away the troubles of the day. But it’s hard to figure out what to post when many people are experiencing a natural disaster. Then I then I remembered that the owners of this New York loft met volunteering after Hurricane Sandy.  Meredith Melling wanted to take her daughter from full electricity uptown to help those who were in need downtown. She asked her friend Ariel Ashe for volunteer recommendations. She introduced Meredith to Zach Iscol who took them out to the Rockaways and eventually become Meredith’s husband. And Ariel Ashe ended up decorating this loft apartment for the couple and their children with her firm Ashe + Leandro. A beautiful full circle story for these tough times.
