Moscow-based lighting and furniture designer Pavel Eekra has created the Crimean Pinecone Light, a modern hanging lamp with curved plaques that form cleverly designed gaps from which the light escapes, creating a fascinating light pattern on the surrounding walls and ceiling. The slightly transparent plates help in dissipating the light, while the bottom part of the lamp allows a bright beam of light to illuminate anything underneath it.
An interesting fact about the Crimean Pinecone is that the design is not based on a frame – all the 56 veneer plates and screws in 7 different sizes were designed to elegantly fall one on top of another to shape an organic modern lighting system. The lamp weights 3 kg and comes flat-packed. The Crimean Pinecone comes in three sizes and four different materials – antiaris, kaya, beech or maple, with dimensions between 60-80 cm and a height of 80 cm, so you can choose the best suited one for your interiors.
