It’s that time again. Awards season has begun and the 2017 Golden Globes did not disappoint. There seemed to be an exceptionally great group of films and television shows nominated this year but more importantly, the stars shown on the red carpet. Here’s my round up of some of the best.
I absolutely loved Kristen Bell in the chic black Jenny Packham gown above. There seemed to be a lot of plunging necklines on display but hers seemed to show the exact right amount of skin. I think she also just gets better and better with each award show and her whole look was just gorgeous.
Mandy Moore had a similar feel in her plunging black Naeem Khan dress. She didn’t win for This is Us but she will definitely make all the best dressed lists in this look. (I think that is a dot of sun on her shoulder and not a rip in her cape,)
Amy Adams was nominated for the Arrival but wore Tom Ford who’s other film, Nocturnal Animals, she starred in last year. She’s worn black to a few events over the last few months and it looks so great against her alabaster skin and red hair.
Everyone is excited to see Winona Ryder back acting in Stranger Things and on the red carpet in Viktor & Rolf. She hasn’t aged a bit either.
Blake Lively looked like a goddess her black velvet and gold Versace gown. I maybe would have loved her hair to be a little looser but those amazing emerald bracelets make up for it.
Looking at Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively together on the red carpet is like looking directly into the center of the sun. Le sigh.
I want to be friends with Chrissy Teigan based strictly on her social media. She seems like a lot of fun but also looks like stunning in Marchesa.
I’m not exactly sure what happened, she might have tripped but Chrissy Teigan and John Legend decided to take a seat on the stairs to the E Red Carpet interview area. See why she looks like so much fun!
You know how much I love grey so of course I love Anna Kendrick’s Vionnet Grecian inspired gown. Although, I know some of people didn’t love it. Oh well.
Millie Bobby Brown is turning 13 soon and this ensemble of sparkly Jenny Packham dress and Sophia Webster shoes is perfectly age appropriate for the Stranger Things star.
Tracee Ellis Ross won for Blackish and won for this heavenly Zuhair Murad dress.
Ruth Negga looks like liquid silver in this Louis Vuitton dress. It was the only one by the brand that was flattering on the red carpet.
Naomie Harris looks like a Golden Globe is this Armani gorgeous gown. Her arms are also my new motivation to keep up with yoga and Pilates.
Kerry Washington is always fashion forward on the red carpet and her Dolce & Gabbana is another winner.
Priyanka Chopra wore a beautiful golden Ralph Lauren Collection gown on the red carpet but I maybe would have loved to see her with her hair up.
I’ve never been a fan of Natalie Portman. I always think you can see her acting on screen if that makes any sense. But I did love her baby bump in canary yellow vintage Prada.
Viola Davis won for Fences and also for this eye popping yellow Michael Kors gown.
Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones also wore the color of the night.
Reese Witherspoon’s pale yellow Versace gown harkens back to that other yellow dress she wore to the Golden Globes 10 years ago.
Hallie Steindeld looked lovely in lavender on the red carpet. I might have took off the sheer sleeves. But at least they looked better than the sleeves on two other dresses I won’t mention.
I’m sure not everyone loved Zoe Saldana in Gucci but she had a big smile and looked happy which makes her look beautiful in my book.
This Zuhair Murad dress was the first one Lily Collins tried on and it makes her look like a pretty princess.
Emma Stone stars in La La Land and there were stars on her pale pink in Valentino dress. Nuff said.
I don’t know who Felicity Huffman was wearing but I don’t think she’s ever looked better.
Sienna Miller could wear a garbage bag and look gorgeous but she glows in this white Michael Kors cut out gown. I love pearls but they seem to age her here. I wish she had left off all the jewelry and had looser hair.
I’ve never seen Gillian Anderson look better either. It’s so nice to see older actresses looking better than some of the younger ones. You can actually buy the black version of her Jenny Packham gown here.
The same can be said of Julia Louis Dreyfus. She also has the best posture on the red carpet which is very important for photos.
Ok, I know you might not like the dress and they caught her in an unfortunate pose but Judith Light’s hair and make are perfection. She makes me want to cut my hair.
I saw Isabelle Huppert in Elle and while it’s a disturbing film there is no doubt that she is one of the most talented actresses working today. The fact that she looks as great as she does at 63 is another reason to follow all those French skincare secrets.
