Daily Dream Home: Killara

Killara is a two-story, four-bedroom low country design stucco home with over 3200 square feet on over five acres in the heart of the Aiken Historic Horse District.

Originally built in 1996, the house has undergone recent renovations. The home is well suited for a family or entertaining and has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, fireplace in the family room, formal living and dining rooms, breakfast area, master with a view of the pool and porch off the family room with wonderful outdoor fireplace. There is a separate detached three car garage with workshop.

This property was part of a larger Aiken Winter Colony estate and the ten stall shed row stable dates to 1928 when built by Dr. William B. Boulton from New York. The property was known as Two Notch Farm and was one of the 95 original Winter Colony properties as shown on historical maps. The two properties that are adjacent and south of Killara were part of this original estate.

The barn was also recently renovated and has large stalls with tongue and groove pine walls and rubber stall mats, a wash stall, feed/tack room with washer/dryer hookup, efficiency apartment and large climate controlled lounge/game room.
Currently there are three paddocks but there is room for several more. Large grass riding area was originally part of a carriage driving dressage field. The property is security gated and boasts wonderful mature plantings and old growth trees.

This property is listed for $1,490,000 with Meybohm Realtors and is showcased by Luxury Portfolio.
