Shhh…can you keep a secret…
There’s a very special spot in Mayfair…
Utterly Instagrammable…
And oh so inviting…
Yes, the Secret Garden at Four Seasons London at Park Lane is back!!
Hidden away in London’s exclusive Mayfair – you can step away from the city, through the doors of the luxury hotel and into what feels like someone’s private garden.
In house floral designer Rosalind Ackerley has created the most beautiful surroundings for guests to relax and enjoy their cocktails. The downstairs Hennessy Lounge has comfy sofas and a dreamy backdrop of white begonia flowers, blue salvia and agapanthus.
On the upper level is the Veuve Clicquot champagne terrace with an outdoor bar, signature umbrellas and chairs and tables featuring the iconic orange of the champagne bottle.
Up here apricot and white tones of the surrounding hydrangea, canna lily and begonias provide the perfect complement to the furniture.
Laura and I decided to kick off with a classic glass of bubbly to toast the start of summer. Laura was actually one of the first bloggers I met when I started my blog three and a half years ago, we’ve been friends ever since and had so much to catch up on.
Chef Eliano Crespi’s menu of street food tapas is the perfect accompaniment to champagne or cocktails and we ordered up a selection to share.
Tasty paneer tikka with an Indian cottage cheese.
Beef skewers served with a Malaysian peanut Sauce and grilled pineapple.
My favourite proscuitto ham and cheese quesadillas…
Delicious spicy padron peppers…
And perfectly crisp calamari…
Braving the British summer without coats might not always be wise but one of the lovely members of staff bought over a blanket so we could enjoy the beauty of the garden for a little longer as night began to descend.
Cocktails are also on the menu and a strawberry Veuve Clicquot Bellini is quite literally the perfect summer drink. Or there’s a traditional Aperol Spritz made with Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Grapefruit as well as a Hennessy drinks menu featuring some of the finest spirits.
As it often does in the UK, the heavens opened and rain began to pour down on the gorgeous terrace but Laura and I didn’t let it stop play. The lovely staff at the hotel found us a cosy seat in the Amaranto Bar to continue our evening and enjoy a few more glasses of bubbles.
Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane seriously never fails to deliver in terms of food and surroundings, it’s a place to rely on but above all the hospitality is alway second to none. I imagine there will be a fair few trips back to that gorgeous Secret Garden this summer…
The Four Seasons kindly hosted us for drinks and tapas.
