Lady Saves Her Memories

What’s your favorite thing about your phone? Mine is that I can take pictures with it. I love sharing photos of my travels on social media as I explore new places around the world, and this week I’ve been doing so in both Scotland and Japan.

Being a professional travel blogger, I take a lot of photos with my phone. Between the Scottish Borders and Asia, I’ve been shooting pictures of everything I see and do.

Making sure those photos stay secure so I can use them today and in the future is not only important to me professionally, but also personally. I love saving my memories and looking back at my photos after I get home to London.

So how do I mitigate the risk of losing them? I was recently approached by MEEM Memory with a good solution. MEEM is a phone charger cable that automatically backs up my phone’s data every time it’s charged. It was created to protect photos and data if a phone gets lost, stolen, or damaged. There’s no third-party access to my personal information, so it’s private and secure.

As someone who cherishes my photos, I like any solution that helps me sleep better at night. As a carry-on-only traveler, I also appreciate MEEM’s small size as much as its stylish appearance. It was easy to pack in my bag to Scotland, and didn’t take up precious overhead locker space en route to Tokyo. It’s intuitive to use, too—it functions just like a USB charger.

The only snag was that the download screen for the accompanying app had big buttons for “Redeem” and “Send Gift”, which was confusing. I thought I needed a code to download the app, but eventually I found that I just needed to tap the “Get” button. I still don’t really understand what the other two buttons were for.

Aside from that, it’s been simple and reassuring to use. Given how much I travel—I’m heading back to Scotland on Friday—and how easy it would be to lose my phone, I like knowing that my photos are safe. And since I have to charge my phone every day anyway, I like that MEEM doesn’t require any extra effort beyond my normal routine.

Which is good, because right now my normal routine is so full of planes, trains, and metro stations that I don’t have capacity for much extra effort. On that note, I’m off to explore Tokyo!
