Favorite Fall Footwear from Nordstrom

It’s finally feeling like fall in New York. The chillier temperatures mean it’s time to think about fall footwear and there’s no better place to start than Nordstrom. The free shipping and returns make it easy to try as many pairs as possible. I’ve put together my favorite boots, sneakers, and flats to to get you started.

Burgundy is my favorite accent color for fall and these Burgundy Velvet Boots are the perfect day to night pair. They also come in six other colors and materials including black leather, black patent leather, red suede, silver leather, teal satin, and white leather. Even better, they are such a great price that you could buy all seven pairs.

Black booties are a popular fall and winter style, especially on cold and rainy days. This Waterproof Bootie is both stylish and practical. They also come in black, grey, and mushroom suede.

The hottest pair of boots this year are the $10,000 Saint Laurent Niki Crystal Embellished Boots. If that price is a bit steep for you, try these much more reasonably priced Glitter Knee High Boots. They look like a perfect pair for holiday parties.

Most over the knee boots make me think of Pretty Woman or a pirate but these Over the Knee Boots with a block heel are beyond chic. I love the burgundy leather but they also come in black.

I bought a pair of Sorel Boots during the Polar Vortex and they are the warmest boots I have ever owned. I was just invited to Switzerland in January and I might get a higher pair like these Sorel Joan of Arctic Waterproof Boots.

I usually only wear sneakers with pants and jeans but I love how these two are wearing them with dresses and/or skirts. Sneakers are the best when running around New York and for sightseeing while traveling. I’ll be packing two pairs for my trip to Boston this weekend.

These Perforated Low Top Sneakers are very similar to the ones I love from Common Projects but less expensive. They also come in six colors.

One of my friends loves Slip On Sneakers for traveling. This pair comes in 14 different colors and materials so you could have one for every outfit.

You know how much I love the color grey so of course I love these Grey Sneakers.

Although these sneakers also come in grey, I love them in the Black Rose color that would look chic with grey flannel pants for fall and winter.

I own these APL Tech Loom Phantom Running Shoes for the gym. My biggest pet peeve with women’s running shoes is that so many brands only offer them in teal and pink. I love these in all black to match my workout clothes but they also come in other colors.
White boots were popular during fashion month and Gucci loafers can still be seen in street style photos for those who want to be comfortable. I love flats for traveling and casual meetings. It’s just too hard to navigate New York in heels if you actually want to walk anywhere.

I have yet to buy Gucci Loafers but I might treat myself this fall. I love that you can push down the back on these Gucci Brixton Convertible Loafers and wear them as a mule.  Such a great idea if your feet swell on a plane or after walking all day.

There are some people who either don’t want to or can’t wear heels. For them or anyone, these Badgley Mischka Gigi Crystal Pointy Toe Flats would be perfect for an evening event or wedding. But I could also see them looking really cute with jeans. They are available in black satin, burgundy suede, latte suede, midnight suede, and pewter metallic suede. They aren’t too crazy expensive either.

I love d’Orsay flats and these Leopard Pointy Toe Calf Hair Flats are already in my shopping bag. They are a great deal at $119.95 and are perfect for work and weekend.

Another great shoe for evening or with jeans are these Diamond Pattern Loafers. I love the Bordeaux velvet but they also come in black and navy velvet.

If you don’t feel comfortable wearing sneakers while traveling or walking to work, I would try these comfortable Cole Haan Margarite Kiltie Fringe Ballet Flats. They come in this style with black and snake, black suede, navy suede, and snake print.
