I absolutely loved my time in Amsterdam and found the city the perfect combination of hip and exciting mixed with a laid back and relaxed attitudes. Exploring the beautiful canals, seeing the canal houses and uncovering secret passageways made this the perfect city break. As I was there as part of a content creation project, I didn’t create my usual rigid itinerary but as we found ourselves with the afternoon fairly free, Mr S and I took the opportunity to take a walk and explore. I do regret not booking tickets for the Anne Frank house as that was something that I was sad to miss out on the first time – if you want to go you definitely need to book. 
As we were there such a short time, I can’t really share my usual top ten lists or an interesting anecdote but I fell in love with the beautiful scenery, eclectic shop fronts and canal boats so I thought I’d share a little diary of some of my favourite pictures.
One place we did explore a bit was the Bloemenmarkt, the world’s only floating flower market which has been in the city since in 1862. With it being so cold, there weren’t many flowers on display but we did find this beautiful shop. 
I’d also recommend a pitstop at the super Instagrammable, Pulitzer Hotel for lunch at their restaurant, Jansz. I mean pink curtains and marble tables… what more do you need!
You are totally spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants and cute cafes so if you can’t quite decide what to go for, head to Foodhallen. A former tram depot, it was inspired by some of Europe’s indoor food markets and is a huge, lofty space where you can walk around and try various food concepts – there’s everything from varying from Michelin star dining to international street food.
That’s just a few of the pretty spots I found in Amsterdam. Is there anywhere that you’d recommend to me? I definitely want to go back.
