Airbus and French artist Cyril Kongo partner up to bring a pop of colour to the interior of its latest ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft. It is the private jet version of the A220 airliner and was launched in October 2020, part of its new line “Xtra Large Bizjets”.
A refreshing change from the usual beige, grey, and wood-toned jet interiors, it is replaced by hand-painted graffiti motifs. With greyscale camouflage, white on black, and some amazingly bright splashes of colour.
The graffiti motifs are even carried out onto the sidewalls, table surfaces, seats, and even to the carpet underneath.
The ACJ TwoTwenty houses six living spaces with a VIP lavatory, a business lounge, the main lounge, a cinema lounge, a master bedroom, and an en-suite bathroom. The jet also has enhanced onboard WiFi, electro-chromatic windows, and LED lights.
The main lounge can accommodate up to eight people, which is a first for business jets.
The aircraft also has three times more living space than other competing jets, and offers a flexible cabin catalogue, meaning the interior arrangement can be tailored to suit the buyer.
Aside from the colourful Kongo version of the aircraft, the company also unveiled three other more everyday versions of the jet named Quintessence, Timeless, and Avant-garde.
Also in the aviation world, Rolls-Royce has a new sustainable aircraft called the “Spirit of Innovation”. Taking over ten years of research and development, it recently completed its maiden flight in the UK. The aircraft represents a giant leap forward for the aviation industry’s journey towards decarbonisation.
Gulfstream’s G700 aircraft had just set two transatlantic records for flying at Mach 0.88, for 13 hours and 16 minutes. The record was for flying from Doha to Paris, 2,935 nautical miles in six hours and 15 minutes at Mach 0.90. It also flew on low-emissions aviation fuel to comply with the original manufacturer’s sustainability commitment.
