For the first time, Tudor will be the Official Timekeeper for this year’s Christmas festivities on Singapore’s premium shopping district, Orchard Road. Dubbed as “Christmas on a Great Street 2021”, the Swiss watchmaker’s Black Bay 41mm will be projected onto the facade of Mandarin Orchard.
In partnership with The Hour Glass and Orchard Road Business Association, Tudor’s Black Bay 41mm with burgundy bezel and blue bezel will be shone across and reflected on Mandarin Orchard. It will display a three-min animation inspired by the spirit of Christmas — the entire duration of the projection lasts for 10-minutes.
More than just a celebration of the upcoming year-end festivities, the display is aimed to spread joyous cheer as Singapore marched towards a new normal. Welcoming this convivial affair is Yung Raja, a friend of Tudor and a rising singer-songwriter. He will lead shoppers towards the blank canvas of the outer facade of Mandarin Orchard.
At the stroke of 8 pm, a visual extravaganza unfolds and signals the start of night’s happenings right at the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road. Among the sea of Christmas baubles, the iconic Tudor Black Bay unveils itself, bringing along the viewers on a journey that is enriched with heritage and history.
Melding the rich heritage of Orchard Road with that of Tudor’s seven decades of watchmaking, viewers can get a glimpse of how the two are at the forefront of its elements. The projection mapping’s festive European inspired elements, akin to watching a swirling snow globe, will transition to a countdown sequence on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

“Enhancing the beauty of Orchard Road during the year-end festive season, Christmas on a Great Street 2021 is creating a new experience to celebrate the small moments in life. Similar to TUDOR’s #BornToDare spirit, this festive display hopes to digitally reimagine the street’s annual light up,” said Cla Riedi, General Manager of Tudor Southeast Asia.
Just in time for the start of the Christmas season, catch the Tudor festive projection mapping display from 1 November 2021 to 2 January 2022, from 8.00 pm to 10.30 pm, and from 8.00 pm to 12.36 am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
