If you haven’t realized from social media yet, fashion week just started here in New York. One of the biggest shows of the week will be the Ralph Lauren 50th Anniversary runway show in Central Park tonight. They’ve taken over Bethesda Fountain for the event that you can watch online at 8:00pm ET.
They’ve been posting photos from old campaigns on Instagram for the past few weeks and it’s a walk down memory lane. I can remember going shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh to pick out Ralph Lauren buttondowns and corduroy shorts. I slept in a bed with floral Ralph Lauren Home sheets and a chambray comforter for most of college. Now, I wear the classic cashmere cable knit sweaters and summer shirtdresses and still decorate with their home collections.
If you ever doubt yourself or what you are doing in life and need a pep talk, just remember that Ralph Lifshitz from the Bronx created the iconic worldwide brand Ralph Lauren and anything is possible if you work hard enough.
