I’ve had a couple of readers ask me to post what I bought myself for Christmas since they loved my post of these items last year. A few things have already sold out, a few have limited sizes left, and others have a lot of availability so get them before they are gone.
Long time readers know that grey is my go to color for winter and I’ve never met a grey coat I didn’t love. I waited until this Toteme oversized double-breasted wool-blend felt coat was 50% off to pull the tigger though. The first size I bought was too big so if you’re on the fence, size down. I don’t think my tailor liked it when I dropped it off to have the sleeves and bottom hemmed but I love it and it feels like it will be very warm for cold New York winters.
I bought this grey cashmere sweater last year but I’m including it since I’ll wear it with the new grey pants I just bought.
I love the black version of these slim crop pant in Italian stretch wool pants so much that I decided to buy them in charcoal grey too. Because they are lined, I ended up buying them one size larger. I wear this cropped style with flats and sneakers but they would also work with pumps.
I buy myself a new pair of Zespa sneakers every year and this year, it was a pair of Zespa sneakers with snakeskin trim. I paid full price but you can buy them half off now. Just to warn you, the size chart online seems off. I wear a US size 7 in shoes and take a 37 in these sneakers.
I was eyeing this Félicité striped shirt with lace insets for a while and I’m glad I finally bought it. I think it’s a sexy alternative to a plain blue shirt and the pleated collar looks great sticking out of a grey sweater.
I love these higher waist curvy toothpick jean in dark worn wash so when they went on sale for 50% off, I ordered two more pair. I love that my shirts stay tucked in and they are insanely comfortable while traveling.
These Velvet Smoking Slippers are still at the cobbler being stretched but I cant wait to wear them with jeans and grey pants. They are such a great color for winter.
I’ve never met an ivory silk blouse I didn’t love and need another one like I need a whole in the head but I bought this Claire shirt anyway.
Before you say that I don’t need another pair of grey wool pants, these full-length trouser in Italian stretch wool are longer for cold winter days so I can wear them with boots or sneakers.
I posted this Mounser gold-plated pearl bracelet in one of my gift guides and bought one for myself. I love pearl jewelry and also ordered a custom pearl necklace from a Florida based jewelry designer. I’m afraid she’s going to forget about me since the holidays were crazy so this reminds me that I should check in with her. I will post it when it finally arrives.
As you know, I love a dress with sleeves and they are very hard to find so I buy them as soon as I see them. I just ordered this rust colored Long Sleeve Button Slit Midi Dress last night. I will probably have my tailor sew up the slit so I can wear it without flashing my Spanx to anyone.
I also just ordered this Workwear Midi Dress last night too. I love the taupe color that looks perfect to wear with snakeskin sandals in warmer weather.
I had high hopes for this long printed silk dress but it didn’t fit right so it’s being returned. I’m including it in case it might be right for someone else.
I had my eye on these Malone Souliers + Roksanda Marlene color-block leather sandals for a while and when I saw them on sale on Matchesfashion.com in my size, I finally ordered them. They arrived today and the rope tie seems a bit bulky and long so I’m going to have my cobbler shorten it so it just ties in a knot in the front instead of looping around twice. Unfortunately, the color combination I bought is sold out but there is still a midnight-blue, light-pink and tomato-red leather version still available. Also, they say they run a little small but I bought my usual size 37 and they fit perfectly.
Bon week-end !
XOXO,
HC
