It takes place in London and offers steel bands, Soca floats and live music. The Notting Hill Carnival is an important event in the United Kingdom and was voted by the public to be on the list of Icons of England. 3. The Carnival of Venice – Italy

The idea comes from people being able to party, eat and drink before the 40 days of Lent arrived.

The Holi festival is another annual festival held in India and Nepal. It is based around the Krishna. His skin was a blue color and he was afraid that his love Radha would not accept him, so he had her face colored to match his. The Holi is named “The Festival of Colors”. It is famous for its dancing in the streets, people eating delicacies and spraying colors on each other.

5. Just For Laughs – Canada

The Just For Laughs festival is considered one of the largest comedy festivals in the world. It is held in Montreal, Quebec and features up to 12 comedy acts, themed shows, comedy galas and other free events. The Just for Laughs festival was created in 1983 by festival producer Gilbert Rozon.

6. Haro Wine Festival – Spain

The San Vino Wine fight held in Haro Spain is one of the largest wine parties in the world. The people, who are both tourists and residents will bring their bottles, containers and water pistols with red wine to the festival streets. They then climb the mountain in La Rioja, Spain and pour the red wine all over each other. The festival is held annually and can host up to 1 million people at a time on the Spanish streets of Haro. The San Vino Wine fight begins at 7am on June 27th each year and runs through June 30th.
