TAG Heuer has unveiled the Connected Bright Black Edition, which sees its smartwatch receive luxurious gold and black aesthetic touches as well as an interface upgrade.

New Aesthetics

For this new and exclusive release, the brand’s designers have opted to work with titanium and ceramic, to give TAG Heuer’s successful smartwatch — first launched in 2015 — a sophisticated look and feel. Featuring a grade 2 titanium watch case and a ceramic bezel, complemented by soft leather straps, the

Connected Bright Black Edition seems to combat the notion that smartwatches don’t belong in luxury.

The titanium case features what the brand dubs the “Black Titanium” look, which is achieved through sandblasting and a black diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. The same finish is also applied to the watch’s clasp. The

Connected Bright Black Edition’s crowning glory, however, is the aforementioned black ceramic bezel, which has been mirror finished to contrast the matte black case. The bezel also has graduations and markings in golden lacquer, and so do the pushers and crown.

Like the previous editions, this watch will be released alongside interchangeable straps, ranging from rubber to leather — ensuring the

Connected Bright Black Edition can be worn for any occasion. <Ed’s note: These new straps will fit any third-generation TAG Heuer Connected watches>

Interface Upgrade

Not all the improvements on the Connected Bright Black Edition are about the hardware. According to the brand, numerous features have been added to the watch’s interface as well. This includes a brand-new watch face called Eclipse, available for all TAG Heuer Connected watches.

On this special edition, however, Eclipse will feature gold hues to complete the watch’s luxurious look. In fact, six of TAG Heuer Connected’s existing faces will receive the “Midas touch” where the
