After my wonderful bloggers reunion, it was only a few short days before I was back at one of my favourite English countryside hotels. Part of the illustrious Dorchester Collection, everything about Coworth Park is immaculate, from the perfectly pruned hedges to the stylish interiors and the flawless service. And that’s why I just can’t get enough of this wonderful place.
Arriving early to the beautiful country mansion I was soon joined by fellow bloggers and Instagrammers including Laura, Fern, Dukyu, Ed and Michelle as well as some of the team from Coworth. During the summer, the hotel’s meadow is all in bloom and we were lucky enough to have it as the location for today’s picnic.
We were led through the flowers to this absolutely gorgeous gazebo laden with food from Michelin-starred Restaurant Coworth Park. Executive Chef Adam Smith as on hand to tell us all about the goodies that we would be enjoying that day.
I mean…they had me at the bread… but on the table were pretty much all my favourite things; tomato salad with feta, rare tuna and artichokes…
Beautifully prepared salmon, crab dressed with caviar, a glorious selection of meats and cheeses…it was seriously heavenly…
And that’s before we even got to the desserts…
And what could possibly enhance a picnic more than Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Brut Rosé Champagne, my absolute favourite fizz! The fine champagne is currently celebrating the 50 year anniversary since the launch in 1968 when it came into shops with a unique bottle shape. Always defying convention it is made using the finest Pinot Noir grapes and is made by leaving the grape juice in contact with the black grape skins to give that gorgeous colour and flavour. It’s perfect with the strawberry desserts or quite frankly with anything! I loved the glass ware too.
To protect our dresses and for ease of eating, the staff at Coworth had set up some tables and chairs for us to enjoy our feast on… but we couldn’t help making this into a ‘proper picnic’ for dessert…
The pink Laurent-Perrier blankets and deck chairs were perfect for just that…
To toast a wonderful day…
In a beautiful place…
With good friends…
